Barbara graduated at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, specializing in Sculpture. She gained her excellence in this topic with Professor Emilio Greco in 1985. Her skills are: molding, life casting, prosthetic creation, bald caps, special effects, makeup effects, prop fabrication, and the processing of silicones, foam latex, gelatin resins, and polyurethanes.
Barbara began her career in special effects before expanding into makeup artistry.
During her illustrious career, she has collaborated with renowned directors such as Mel Gibson, Dario Argento, Lamberto Bava, Gabriele Salvatores, Marco Bellocchio, Alessandro D’Alatri, Giuseppe Tornatore, Alessandro Siani, Stefano Sollima, Pupi Avati, and Lina Wertmüller.
She has worked as a Makeup Artist (MUA) and Special Effects Artist (SFX) for more than 90 films and TV series in Italy, Mexico, Cuba, the Czech Republic, Thailand, South Africa, Argentina, United Kingdom, France, Slovenia, Romania, and Spain.
Cristina specialized in Interactive Systems for Video Animation at the Milan School of Multimedia in 1992. She graduated in Cinema Studies from D.A.M.S. and later attended the School of Cinema in Milan and completed her Studies in “Direction and Production” under the mentorship of French director Otar Iosseliani.
She began her career as a Videographic Editor, working in Milan and the Netherlands. In 1998, Cristina transitioned into the field of social documentaries, taking on roles as a Filmmaker, Producer, and Camera Operator. On the top of that she has also in over 30 documentaries and TV series in collaboration with various directors. She has also directed 10 social documentaries.
More recently, she has worked as a Film Fixer, Set Coordinator, Location Scout, and Assistant Producer for feature films and TV series across Italy, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, and Cuba.
Since 2022 she has been working mainly in Coordination and Set Organization.
